Screening
Screening can detect health issues before symptoms occur, which can make treatment more effective. Our preventive Whole Health Checks are a comprehensive look at your health and play an important role in screening for illness.
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a medical test that records the electrical activity of the heart. It provides important information about the heart’s rhythm, rate, and electrical conduction pathways. An ECG is a common diagnostic tool used to assess heart health and identify potential cardiac abnormalities.
Book a 30 minute appointment for this test.
Why might I need this test?
- For a general assessment of health health
- Evaluation of Chest Pain or Discomfort
- Diagnosis of abnormal health rhythms
- Monitoring of a heart condition
What does the test involve?
During an ECG, electrodes are placed on specific locations of the body, typically on the chest, arms, and legs. These electrodes detect and record the electrical signals produced by the heart as it contracts and relaxes. The resulting waveform pattern, called an electrocardiogram, is analyzed by healthcare professionals to evaluate the heart’s electrical activity.
If you have concerns about your heart health or are experiencing symptoms related to your heart, it’s best to consult a healthcare provider who can assess your situation and determine if an ECG or other cardiac tests are necessary.
A smear test, also known as a Pap test or cervical screening, is a procedure used to detect early signs of cervical cancer or pre-cancerous changes in the cells of the cervix. It involves collecting a small sample of cells from the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina.
Book a 30 minute appointment for this test.
Why might I need this test?
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Unusual vaginal discharge
- Pelvic pain
Why might I have this test privately?
- Convenience and Accessibility: Private smear tests may offer more flexible scheduling options, shorter waiting times, or the ability to choose a specific healthcare provider or clinic.
- Privacy and Comfort: Some individuals may feel more comfortable or at ease undergoing a smear test in a private setting.
Regular cervical screening is important for early detection and prevention of cervical cancer, so it’s essential to follow the recommended screening intervals regardless of whether you choose to undergo a smear test through the NHS or private system.
